Stephanie Taplin

Stephanie Taplin

Port Orchard, Washington

Christine met Stephanie Taplin through a mutual friend. A glass (or two) of wine later it was clear that underneath Stephanie’s modest demeanor was a competitive force to be reckoned with. Whether it be European and American cycling competitions or complicated board games, Stephanie likes to win. She exemplifies the balance of intelligence, humor, professionalism, and competitiveness that Newbry Law is known for.

Born and raised in New England, Stephanie moved to Washington State in 2011 and received her J.D. with honors from the University of Washington.  After graduating, she spent three years working as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Washington, where she handled juvenile dependency, termination, appellate, and state licensing cases in Pierce County.  Her main focus at Newbry Law is appellate work in the dependency and criminal arenas.

When she isn’t working Stephanie can probably be found on a road or mountain bike. She and her husband Will along with their dog Annie hit the trails as often as possible. In 2018 they also became foster parents, and are currently searching for the perfect toddler bike trailer.
